Krasnodar, 25 September – Yug Times. Kuban is known as Russia’s most important milk provider. In January - August 2018, the region produced nearly 644,000 tons of milk, or by 9.2% more than over the same period last year. However when you are boosting your production volumes, it’s worth remembering about your consumers - and they continue to be affected by scandals related to falsified dairy products that have flooded the market.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Aleksei Gedz announced that over the past five years, 165 billion roubles have been invsted in the development of the regional agricultural complex. “We are No. 1 nationwide on the amount of investments in the agricultural complex,” he said.
Nonetheless, the dairy industry continues to experience a series of unresolved problems. They became the topics for discussion of more than 160 delegates from throughout the country - deputies of the regional Legislative Assembly and Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being (Rospotrebnadzor), the Soyuzmoloko National Union of Milk Producers, and top managers and production engineers of dairy companies.
