Krasnodar, 5 September – Yug Times. The liner, during the crash landing, rolled out of the runway and caught fire.
The incident occurred on the first September at about 3 am. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft flying UT579 from Moscow to Sochi made a hard landing. The Ministry of Emergencies reported that the cause of fire is the aircraft touched the fence with a wing. Owner of the liner Utair said that the aircraft had slipped into the riverbed of the Mzymta River, as a result of which the chassis and wing racks collapsed, and the left engine caught fire.
During the extinguishment of fire, all passengers and crew members were evacuated to a safe distance. Altogether 170 people were on board. There were no victims among them, but 18 people applied for medical help, including three children. One of the victims was hospitalized by a sanatorium helicopter from Sochi to the Regional Clinical Hospital N 1 in Krasnodar. The other passengers and crew members were assisted on the spot.
