Krasnodar, 24 August – Yug Times. Our today’s interviewee is Yevgeni Pervyshov, Krasnodar City Mayor.

Q.: Krasnodar is growing rapidly in the direction of Znamensky and Novoznamensky neighbourhoods. What are the development prospects for these settlements?

A.: The federal government has handed over land plots of over a thousand hectares into the possession of the city. What is more, new plots will be added to these lands – altogether, the total area will be 1,500 hectares. It’s a large area that will need huge engineering infrastructure and development. We will have to decide where to build residential communities, kindergartens, and other things. This large residential neighbourhood must be well thought-out from the very beginning, and its construction should be performed according to the plan taking into account all criteria we are developing together with the regional administration to ensure comfortable conditions for its dwellers.

Q.: How is the work on the city’s new development plan going on?

A.: The regional administration and the governor have helped us a lot by allocating us the money required for the elaboration of the new general plan of development of Krasnodar. The money will arrive in September, and we will start developing a new document that will remain relevant, I should say, until the year 2050.

I believe that it will take us 2.5 to three years to develop the new plan. An important stage and quite a complicated process would be to get it approved with the federal departments.
