Krasnodar, 22 August – Yug Times. Two million young Russians aged 15 to 24 neither work nor study.
According to a survey performed by the Higher School of Economics, about 15% of Russian youth are not involved in any useful trade. Such people, usually referred to as the NEET group (Not in Employment, Education or Training), are divided into two classes: the NEETUnemployed, those who do not have work but search for jobs, and NEET-Inactive, those who do not search for any job. In small rural localities, the NEET’s share is higher than in big cities. Irrespective of gender, young Russians would sooner leave the NEET state in the megalopolises, where there are more opportunities for their education and work.
