Krasnodar, 14 August – Yug Times. An underwater museum has reportedly been founded in the sea near Novorossiysk by a team of local divers. A coffer with ‘treasure’ became its first exhibit. In order to look genuine, they were painted gold. The following artifacts to be shown to the tourists will be a wooden arrow showing four directions: Gelendzhik - Crimea - Baikal - Turkey. But the real discovery of the underwater exposition lies just several metres besides - it is German bombers downed during World War II.

“There are underwater museums opened in Bolshoi Utrish and Anapa,” the underwater photographer and diver Ernst Antonov said. “But the museum at Novorossiysk will have a peculiarity - it features artifacts that were not sunk on purpose.”

The aim of the museum is to attract the holidaymakers to underwater tourism in the Black Sea, as well as to give a second life to old things.
