Krasnodar, 24 July – Yug Times. A new engineering centre has opened in the Krasnodar region, as a business support institution.
Engineering centres are common for Russia. Some of them render exclusively consultancy services; others support chemistry, technologies or IT industry. Every region is known to determine its specialization, and the Krasnodar region has chosen consulting as the main domain for its first engineering centre.
The new institution is targeted at small and midsize entrepreneurs that work in the production sector. Such an emphasis may help the region stop being perceived as a trading area only and start concentrating new successful companies in its territory.
Some five years ago, there were only 19 similar structures operating in the country. Now their network has expanded to 57 regional engineering centres working in 49 Russian regions. Their database lists more than 5,000 industrial and engineering companies, and over 300 experts and specialists of different profiles. Now Kuban business circles have also obtained access to this database.
In the opinion of vice chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Sergei Altukhov, the opening of the regional Engineering Centre will become an important step towards the development of support institutions for small and midsize businesses.
