Resort Fee to Be Spent to Improve Beaches

Krasnodar, 20 July – Yug Times. On July 16, collection of the resort fee started in the Krasnodar region. The tariff is 10 roubles per day spent in either of the following five resort municipalities: Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Goriachy Kluch and Tuapse.

Governor Veniamin Kondratiev reminded that the Kuban residents will be exempted fromthe fee. Besides, there are 19 privileged categories of citizens that are exempted from the fee – low-income, disabled, WWII and combat operations veterans, etc.

“For other visitors, the fee will be 10 roubles a day – we have introduced the minimum possible rate for this year,” said Mr. Kondratiev. It is expected that the regional budget will receive 70 million roubles due to the new fee.

“Of course, it’s not a big sum, but it will still help us support the resort infrastructure in good state,” said Mr. Kondratiev.

The money will reportedly be spent to resolve the problems of the tourist destinations, for instance to landscape the parks and gardens, and to improve the beaches.
