Krasnodar, 19 July – Yug Times. The transformation of the roundabout at Ofitserskaya Street in Krasnodar into a T-shape intersection has reportedly finished 1.5 months ahead of schedule.
The repair works were accomplished by the Stroi Yug Region Company in the framework of the federal program “Safe and highquality roads”.
Despite the difficulty of the works – the contractor had to replace the movement joints, waterproofing compound, and asphalt concrete – the traffic had not been interrupted.
“I am sincerely thankful to the contractor for their responsibility and commitment,” said Krasnodar mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov. “They showed us an excellent example of competent work arrangement. Owing to that, the traffic along the Ofitsersky Overpass which is one of the main entries into the city, will be resumed nearly a month ahead of the accelerated schedule and a month and a half earlier than it was planned initially.”
The main works on the road surface of the overpass have finished, and the road workers proceeded to repair the tramways laid along the overpass.
According to the city’s Department for Transport and Road Facilities, the situation in rush hours has considerably improved after the traffic was resumed on all lanes of the overpass.
