Krasnodar, 3 July – Yug Times. Anapa is playing host to the fifth national festival of the Black Sea mussels. On June 30, City Mayor Yuri Poliakov gave a start to the festival by pouring 12 kg of mussels into a huge cauldron in the restaurant Oblaka (The Clouds). Vlad Kopylov, general director of Interrecord, an international agency for registering records, was scrupulously registering what was happening - until a new record of the biggest helping of mussels was registered: 155.3 kg (the previous record was 127.5 kg, and it was set also in Anapa in 2014). “The mussels for the grandiose dish were caught in Utrish [a recreational nook near Anapa] several hours before the festival,” explained Edvart Deliboltoyan, general manager of the Albatross Hotel. “After the new record was registered, the mussels were sold for charity purposes.”
