Krasnodar, 6 June – Yug Times. In the course of a traditional ‘hour главам не удастся of control’, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev criticised the work of the municipal heads that do not interact with inhabitants of their respective territories.
According to Mr. Kondratiev, since the beginning of the year the Regional Administration has receive 39,000 complaints; in a number of cases, the people had to address directly the President, because they had not been able to resolve their problems on the spot. Most often, it happened in Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik and Tuapse.
“Quite often, these are problems that when you would look at them, you wouldn’t understand why they couldn’t have been resolved right there where they had appeared,” said Governor. “The local officials would take their job carelessly; they would respond to the complaints without going to the place – it’s just formal replies. One can’t rule a municipality by sitting in their office.”
Mr. Kondratiev instructed his Deputy Aleksei Kopaigorodsky to analyse the reasons for the nonfulfilment of his instructions, and announced that he would take staff decisions based on the results of this analysis.
