Krasnodar, 24 May – Yug Times. The Sochi Philharmonic Society has reportedly held a series of events to celebrate its 80th birthday.
The Winter Theatre is the main stage in Sochi targeted at festival and guest tours. It is known to host such large-scale projects as the Kinotavr Film Festival, Yuri Bashmet’s Winter International Festival of Arts, Igor Butman’s Sochi Jazz Festival, the Club for the Lighthearted and Quick-Witted Festival, Yuri Grigorovich’s The World’s Youth Ballet, and Valeria Basova All-Russia Contest of Vocalists. This is why, the Winter Theatre is rightfully considered the main culture and arts trendsetter in South Russia.
The culmination of the jubilee activities was the full-house concert In Search of the Tsar’s Bride that was composed of fragments from Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tsar’s Bride that was the debut performance of the theatre on May 15, 1938.
