The national information action “Find Out about Your Debts” is going on in the Krasnodar region. “People may find out whether they are registered as debtors from the [online] service “Court enforcement proceedings database” available at the official website of the Federal Service of Court Bailiffs since January 2012. This service became a revolutionary breakthrough in the relations between law enforcement bodies and debtors. Instead of personally going to the Court Bailiffs Department, one can use any mobile device equipped with access to Internet,” explained Marina Nyrenkova, Deputy Chief Bailiff of the Krasnodar region.
Q.: What are the main advantages of this service?
A.: This service makes it possible not to stay in a queue to pay one’s penalties, fines, levies or other debts.
Q.: How popular it is?
A.: Quite popular: over the first three months of this year, about 736,000 users visited the website, and about 10,000 payments were carried out.
Q.: Many Kuban dwellers are used to buying tours abroad for May Day vacations. Will a lot of them be deprived of such opportunity [due to their debts] this year?
A.: Yes, quite a lot. In January - March 2018, Kuban court bailiffs pronounced 162,600 temporary restrictions on the right to leave the country to the debtors. The total amount of their debts exceeds 80.7 billion roubles.
Q.: Nonpayment of alimony is one of the most ‘popular’ kinds of personal arrears. Has this category of debtors also been deprived of a possibility to leave the country?
A.: It is the non-payers of alimony who make up a considerable part of the above stated figures: over 17,100 cases for the total sum of more than 3.6 billion roubles.
All these people will be able to travel abroad only when they have fully repaid their debts. I recommend to check with the court enforcement proceedings database at the official website of the regional branch of the Federal Service of Court Bailiffs before going to the airport to make secure against unpleasant surprises.
