Krasnodar, 6 April – Yug Times. Last Saturday, the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots held an official graduation of new lieutenants.
The event was attended by hundreds of guests from all corners of Russia: high-rank officials of Russia’s Air Forces, and friends and relatives of the young officers.
Out of the 349 graduates that received ‘the keys from the sky’, 11 were awarded with a gold medal, and 37 received diplomas with honours.
In his greeting message sent to the graduates, Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted that today’s realities prove that only a strong army may serve as the guarantor of Russia’s sovereignty.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Lieutenant Oleg Shevchenko said: “Fiver years ago, we came to the Kuban capital to connect our lives with aviation. We will always be proud to have studied in this glorious school.”
Then the floor was given to Alla Samkova, a fresher: “You are the real present and the future of the Russian Aerospace Forces. I wish you great victories on land and in air!”
This brief speech was given an ovation. Last autumn, 15 girls for the first time entered the school (chosen from several hundred female applicants).
