Krasnodar, 30 January – Yug Times. Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev has announced that it is high time to change the registration rules for foreign citizens.
One of Governor’s announcements concerned companies employing illegal foreign workers. In Mr. Kondratiev’s opinion, it was necessary to create such conditions so that the employers would not want to hire immigrants.
“Last year, 42,000 patents were issued to immigrants, though according to police estimates the figure should have been halved,” stated Mr. Kkondratiev. “The regional budget found about 700 million roubles missing. It is clear that there are concrete people standing behind such ‘employment’.”
Illegal immigrants are much more than an economic loss — they constitute a real threat to public security. For example, last year our ‘guests’ committed more than 1,300 crimes, including wilful killings and infliction of serious bodily harm.
“Let’s develop a corresponding legislative initiative — it’s a very serious issue for the region,” asserted Governor. “We must know who and why are coming to our region. We must ensure that Kuban lives and works within the legal framework only.”
