Krasnodar, 25 January – Yug Times. The airports of Krasnodar, Sochi, Anapa and Gelendzhik have rstarted direct flights with several new destinations abroad.

According to statistics, the passenger traffic in the four airports owned by Basel Aero Company reached to 10,857,259 in 2017, thereby growing by 9% in comparison with 2016. Although the growth was achieved mainly due to domestic flights (9,953,184 passengers), it was the international links that showed higher growth dynamics — the increase amounted to fantastic 63% (904,075 passengers).

Commenting on these results, Basel Aero Director General Leonid Sergeyev said: “Last summer, international passenger traffic grew by 79%, which was another record of our company. In Krasnodar, the growth was [even more] — 80% compared to the summer of 2016. Our most popular links were flights to Antalya, Istanbul, Yerevan, Tashkent, Vienna, Aktau, Minsk, Larnaka, Tel Aviv, Chişinău and Dubai. “The new destinations in 2018 will be Thessaloniki, Gyumri, Thailand (Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket), and Italy (Verona). The air companies are contacting us willingly — if there is demand, there are flights.”
