Kuban to Export Meat to China

Krasnodar, 2 November – Yug Times. The Krasnodar region plans to start exports of halal meat. The regional authorities have reportedly promised to help local producers to organize export deliveries. China, with a numerous Islamic community, will be one of the export destinations, announced Vice Governor Andrei Korobka.

“We are a leading Russian producer of poultry, and we will support our poultry farms to let them enter the global sales markets,” said he. “China has a numerous Islamic population, and the market situation lets us arrange deliveries of halal meat to that country. The task of the [regional] authorities is to organize the sales channels for our agricultural producers, so that these sales channels would be within everyone’s reach.”

Presently Kuban fully covers its own demand for poultry meat and exports it to other Russian regions and abroad, including Abkhazia, Armenia, Georgia and the UAE. Nonetheless, there is still room to increase the exports.
