Parties Get Prepared to Election

Krasnodar, August 12 – Yug Times. According to a release of the session of the regional Election Committee, five political parties will take part in the election to the regional Legislative Assemble to be held in September.

Last week the 97-strong list of the United Russia Party was registered. Earlier the Election Committee registered the lists of the regional branches of the Communists of Russia, Just Russia, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and Liberal Democratic Party of Russia. A number of parties were denied registration on the basis of various violations of law.

The election of the next convocation of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar region will take place on September 10. For the purpose of optimization of expenses, the number of single-seat districts was cut from 50 down to 35, and the number of future deputies from 100 to 70.

Meanwhile, an idea to introduce party reforms is being discussed in Moscow. It was first announced at a session of the taskforce in charge of improvement of the electoral law working under the aegis of the Presidential Administration.
