It would take a whole page if not more to put down the list of all titles, thanks and acknowledgments of the skills of Tatiana Kurasova, Headteacher of the Novoleushkovskaya Vocational Boarding School and Honoured Teacher of Kuban. Tatiana Kurasova’s most distinguished feature is her untiring character and achievement drive combined with the use of most progressive attainments of educational science.

When in autumn 2006 gas pipeline was being laid to the school building, the students were resettled to stay at the villagers’ houses. Over those four months the students became so close with their new families that they would not want to let them go back to their dorm! So it was decided to initiate patronages as a new form of adoption of the orphans. It looked quite unusual ten years ago, but now the experience of the Novoleushkovskaya Boarding School is being applied elsewhere. “We call our school ‘a warm house with no walls’, for its boundaries have expanded to include the whole village. Our kids have new eyes, they got a kind harbour of their own,” noted Kurasova. The Novoleushkovskaya Boarding School is not just classrooms to study Maths or Russian. The students are taught there to live an adult life, with all its complications, ascents and problems. Vocational education is one of the main directions of the school’s curriculum. The students learn the trades of seamstress, bricklayer, shoemaker, joiner, plasterer, and even viticulturist.

In 2015, the school was awarded a diploma and gold medal as a member of the Top-100 best schools in Russia. In 2014, Tatiana Kurasova as the laureate of the national competition of headteachers was invited to the Kremlin for the celebration of the Year of the Family.
