For the Primorsko-Akhtarsk municipality, support of the local business and search for investors are the main directions of its development strategy.
Like most other municipalities in the Krasnodar region, Primorsko-Akhtarsk is an agricultural territory. In 2016, it for the first time got the highest yield of grain crops among in the central part of the region. But apart from crop farming, the rayon is known for its fish-breeding and spas and resorts.
We asked Valeri Spichka, head of the Primorsko-Akhtarsk rayon, about the results of the 2016 Sochi Investment Forum for his municipality, and about his expectations for the 2017 Forum.
“Our only goal is very plain – to give a new vector to the development of the local economic sectors and to the opening up of new modern production facilities in the rayon.
“Last year, we managed to improve our investment package – we quit the numbers and concentrated on quality; we removed all projects that proved inefficient and left only the affordable ones.
“In 2016, two agricultural investment projects were implemented: the construction of a poultry farm (34 million rubles), and of a vegetable production, storage and processing facility (130 million rubles).
“Currently we continue to implement the investment projects on the construction of two dairy farms in Akhtarsky and Novopokrovsky. The total cost of these projects is 126.4 million rubles.
“Speaking about the current projects that are the most promising and valuable for the local economy, I can say that we are going to present five such projects at the Forum: a greenhouse complex, fruit and vegetable processing factory, fish-factory, mushroom factory, and amusements park.
“Also, we are going to revert to the issue of construction of a wind-driven power plant. By the investor’s initiative, its construction resumed at the end of last year.
“I consider all these projects very important, as their implementation will give fresh impetus to the economic development of the rayon.”
