In the framework of the media project Heroines of Our Time and competition Triumph-2016, we continue our cycle of publications about the most successful women of the Kuban region.
Today our heroine is Aleksandra Terebunova. She is our colleague, a longstanding chairperson of the regional branch of the Russian Union of Journalists and director of the Periodika Kubani (Kuban Periodical Press) company, the printing house of most municipal and local newspapers in the region.
“I have never done what I didn’t like,” says Aleksandra Terebunova. “I cannot work under duress - this is my principle. I have to take pleasure in doing something - or a thrill, if you prefer. You have to try to find your own calling, your style and your fashion. Besides, such factors as recognition, appreciation, self-appraisal and usefulness of my work are also of great importance to me.”
For twelve years, Terebunova had been chairing the regional branch of the Russian Union of Journalists. Her colleagues keep recalling that period as interesting time. She has much to remember too: numerous forums of young journalists, writing contests, Schools of Junior Correspondents, Days of Kuban Journalism in Moscow, and regional festivals entitled The Pulse of Five Million People (rough population size of the Kuban region).
Presently, Aleksandra Terebunova works as Director General of the publishing house Okolitsa (Outskirts), the issuer of the popular newspaper My Neighbourhood and magazine of pet lovers Wonderful Animals. Recently, the publishing house was acknowledged the champion of this year’s subscription campaign.
