ЮГ Times. Aliona Stikhareva’s songs are popular far beyond the Kuban region. For a long time, she has been cooperating with such universally famous singers as Iosif Kobzon, a legend of the Russian stage, and chansonnier Yevgeni Kemerovsky.
Aliona was born in Gorlovka, Donetsk region, to an artistic family, where all played different music instruments from early childhood.
“I took up music at the age of five,” recalls Aliona. “It was then that I wrote my first book of rhymes. When I was in the fifth form, I wrote my first song – Mum had ordered it.”
Upon graduating from Donetsk Music Teacher’s Training College, she went to work as a music teacher at high school. At the same time, she composed songs and took part in different song contests in Donetsk.
Later she met Leonard Gatov, the founder of the Creative Association Premiera in Krasnodar, who became a ‘good genius’ for Aliona. It happened in 1993, when she first came to Krasnodar and asked Gatov if they had a vacancy at the theatre. And they really needed a singer then. So she was offered a position and taken care of and given a flat in the ‘actors’ house’ at Chekistov Prospect in Krasnodar. Stikhareva recalls how Gatov once told her: “’Aliona, you are a character actress and you must play roles.’
