Wind as Power Source

A series of large-scale projects in alternative power engineering are to be accomplished in Adyghea.

In the Shovgenovsky, Giaginsky and Koshekhabl rayons, several wind power stations of the total capacity of 441 MW will be constructed. For instance, the 150 MW-strong Shovgenovsky ‘wind park’ will consist of 75 wind-turbine electric plants of 2 MW each.

Reportedly, the construction of wind power stations is commercially justified.

«We are interested in this project, because development of renewable energy may compensate for Adyghea’s growing demand in generating capacities,» Head of Adyghea Aslan Tkhakushinov was quoted as commenting on the news.
