Plant a Tree was the name of the event held in the Dinskoi rayon last week. It was initiated by the Federal Forestry Agency in the framework of the All-Russia Afforestation Day.
The Afforestation Day was first held in May 2011, during the UN-proclaimed International Forest Year. It was then that the environmental initiative was supported by the Russian Government.
«We have to cooperate more actively on environmental issues,» head of Dinskoi municipality Sergei Zhilenko was quoted as saying. «I am very glad that our initiative was supported by Bonduelle Kuban, one of the most successful companies in the rayon and the krai on the whole. It’s nice when you see that business sees their part in the life of the municipality well beyond a mere payment of taxes, and takes seriously ecological issues.»
«Social projects are an important constituent of our corporate activities, so when we were offered to take part in the event, we gladly agreed,» said Sergei Kovalev, Bonduelle Kuban Managing Director.
