The inauguration of Fresenius’ new health centre is significant in many respects: first, it is evidence of the fact that a European company continues investing money in the objects located in the Krasnodar region despite today’s hard geopolitical situation; secondly, the new institution will resolve the problems of hundreds of patients suffering from chronic renal insufficiency for whom regular medical aid is a bare necessity.
Fresenius’ program of construction of dialysis centres in the Krasnodar region is a vivid example of efficient cooperation between the governmental bodies and private capital.
The first agreement on cooperation between the regional authorities and the global dialysis network was concluded in Milan in 2005, and in the following year the Krasnodar regional Administration signed an agreement with the Fresenius Medical Care.
Since the beginning of the investment project, the Company has opened over 400 jobs and invested more than 1.5 bn rubles in the region’s health care infrastructure.
Now the Company’s dialysis centres work in 7 cities and towns of the Krasnodar krai: in Krasnodar, Yeisk, Sochi, Tuapse, Novorossiysk, Armavir and Fastovetskaya.
Andrei Miagkov, Fresenius Medical Care Russia Director General, was quoted as saying last week that the new centre in Sochi complies with all standards of their Company, and is not inferior to any other European centres and even surpasses them in some characteristics.
“During the fulfillment of the project we came across certain difficulties, but today the medical staff has received an opportunity to work with pleasure and in conditions complying with most modern technologies, while the patients are provided with most comfortable conditions for treatment,” Mr. Miagkov said.
