A new laboratory complex for industrial waste management has been opened at the Kuban State Technological University.

The equipment for the new laboratory was purchased in the framework of Philip Morris Kuban’s charity project.

The opening ceremony was attended by University President Vladimir Lobanov, Vice President on International Relations and Youth Policy Tatiana Barkhatova, Director of the Institute of Oil, Gas and Power Engineering Dmitri Antoniadi, Philip Morris Kuban Director General Vladislav Kalashnikov and others.

Owing to its up-to-date equipment, the laboratory will improve the quality of the educational process and help involve the students in scientific research activities.

“For many years, it has been our global charity activity in South Russia to support the educational establishments,” Mr. Kalashnikov was quoted as saying at the opening ceremony. “Now our charity program has been re-directed to strengthen the scientific and technological basis of the universities to let them further improve the quality of education of the specialists that will participate in the development of the socio-economic potential of our region.”
