Out of the 7,000 vehicles engaged in jeeping, only 560 complied with the safety requirements. All others work at the tourists’ own peril.
In 2015, different inspections revealed 3,120 violations of tourist safety rules: say, more than 900 off-road vehicles used to convey tourists either had technical failures or their construction had been altered illegally.
