A group of Orthodox activists are trying to cancel the upcoming rock concerts of Belphegor and Nile scheduled in the framework of their tour The Flaming Arts Festival on Aprli 20 in Moscow, on April 21 in Yekaterinburg, and on April 23 in Krasnodar.

Chairman of the Orthodox Union public organization Roman Plyuta has addressed the head of the Russian Investigation Committee Aleksandr Bastrykin and Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika demanding to institute criminal proceedings against the organizers of the tour.

Plyuta considers that in the texts of their songs, the 'black metallists' Belphegor (Austria) and Nile (USA) "speak pejoratively and offensively of Christ and Mohammed, the Christians and Moslems that make up a significant share of the Russian society."

The organizers of the picket against the musicians scheduled on March 23 in Krasnodar are expecting that it would gather up to 1,000 participants.
