Krasnodar, 25 August – Yug Times. Sochi officials have discussed plans for improving outdoor lighting across the city.
At a working meeting, an option for lighting called the Guest Route was presented.
It lies along the main route from Sochi International Airport to the Central District, stretching for around 10 kilometres.
The proposed scheme envisages a comprehensive transformation of the urban environment, taking into account the terrain, landscape, architecture and the resort city’s distinctive character.
According to preliminary concepts, modern colour-control systems would be used along the route, allowing dynamic lighting scenarios to be created.
Decorative lighting is planned for retaining walls, vegetation and utility poles.
The equipment meets modern energy-efficiency and operational requirements. It may take between six and eight months to complete the project.
The meeting also presented lighting concepts for around 300 other sites in the Central and Lazarevsky districts, including Navaginskaya Street.
Implementing these schemes would allow the city to gradually expand its architectural and artistic lighting system and create a coherent visual identity for the city’s environment.
