Krasnodar, 20 August – Yug Times. Major repairs have been completed on Novorossiyskoe Highway, one of Sochi's main transport corridors.
Under a municipal contract, contractors laid more than 50,000 square metres of new asphalt, renovated pavements, installed drainage and street lighting systems, and put up new road signs and bus shelters.
During the works, three land slide-prone sections with a combined length of 160 metres were identified, requiring specialised measures including slope stabilisation, retaining walls, drainage systems and geogrids. The necessary work has been completed at one site, while additional funding is awaited for design, survey and landslide-prevention works at the other two.
More than 440 million roubles were allocated to the project, most of it from the regional budget.
