Krasnodar, 28 October – Yug Times. Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin has reportedly met with residents of the Gornoe Lo’o village to discuss key local issues. The main topics raised included road repairs — particularly those linked to the aftermath of the landslide on Magadanskaya Street — and the construction of a new wing for School No. 87. Residents also expressed concerns about connecting private households to central utility networks.
“Transport accessibility is of critical importance. Work is currently under way to repair the landslide-damaged section of Magadanskaya Street. More than 3,300 people live nearby and regularly use this road,” said Mayor Proshunin. “A 30-metre retaining wall will be built on the damaged stretch; the soil will be reinforced with piles; and a new asphalt surface will be laid. The work is scheduled for completion by December this year.”
The mayor also noted that expanding School No. 87 remains a key priority for the community. Under the ‘Youth and Children’ national project, a new school wing for 400 primary pupils is being built in the settlement. Construction teams are installing the monolithic frame, with completion expected in early 2027.
