Krasnodar, 23 October – Yug Times. Novorossiysk is preparing to start the reconstruction of the Aleksino wastewater treatment plant.
The city continues to upgrade and expand its sewage treatment facilities. Following the completion of new plants in Abrau-Durso and Natukhaevskaya, attention now turns to the Aleksino site.
“We are constantly monitoring new technologies that can improve the efficiency of these facilities. We discussed modern methods for utilising sludge with the Kronstadt Engineering Cen tre LLC,” explained Mayor Andrei Kravchenko.
The company proposes a technology enabling controlled digestion of primary and secondary sludge [aka biological floc]. The by-products of this process — biogas — can be used to heat buildings and facilities at the treatment complex (and potentially beyond in the future), as well as to fuel drying systems for the remaining sludge.
