Krasnodar, 22 October – Yug Times. Preparatory work on the repair of Novorossiysk Highway in Sochi has reportedly been completed.
Temporary road signs have been installed along the section, and geodetic surveying has been finished. Currently, workers are dismantling the upper layer of the old road surface.
Contractors plan to eliminate subsidence of the carriageway.
As part of the repair, the top layer of asphalt concrete will be replaced and drainage channels will be installed.
Street lighting will also be added along this key thoroughfare.
“We understand that the ongoing repairs may cause temporary inconvenience for motorists, but this is a necessary step to bring this important transport junction into proper condition.
Once the work is completed, we expect to see an improvement in traffic flow in the areas of the Kurortny Avenue Bypass, Matsesta, and Khosta,” commented Vadim Kopylov, Director of the Department of Transport and Road Facilities of the Sochi City Administration.
