Krasnodar, 14 October – Yug Times. Contractors have reportedly begun repair works on Novorossiysk Highway in Sochi.
City Mayor Andrei Proshunin an nounced the start of roadworks during a meeting with residents of the Primorsky neighbourhood, held at the Khosta District Administration. The preparatory stage of the project has already been completed: temporary road signs installed and geodetic surveying carried out. Contractors have started to remove the old asphalt surface. The project includes eliminating road subsidence, replacing the top asphalt layer over an area of around 38,000 square metres, installing drainage channels, new bus shelters, and street lighting. More than 440 million roubles have been allocated for the works.
“This is an important route for us — an alternative to a section of the federal A-147 highway. It will improve transport links between Ku rortny Prospekt’s bypass, Matsesta, and Khosta, while enhancing safety and comfort for all road users,” commented Andrei Proshunin.
