Krasnodar, 2 September – Yug Times. Krasnodar Region’s Minister for Civil Defence and Emergency Situations, Sergei Shtrikov, has inspected recovery work after flooding in the Tuapse district.
Together with a local citizens’ initiative group, Shtrikov visited areas hardest hit by the torrential downpours of 3 August 2025.
“Together with the head of Tuapse district, we visited the villages of Moldovanovka and Lermontovo, where road bridges had been washed away by the disaster, and spoke with residents. Their greatest concern is the timeline for building a new crossing over the Shapsukho River in Lermontovo. Project documentation has already been prepared by the municipality, and a contractor will soon be appointed,” Shtrikov said.
He noted that a boat crossing organised by Kuban-SPAS continues to operate in Lermontovo, ensuring access to the other bank, while Moldovanovka has a temporary crossing available to both drivers and pedestrians. The municipality is currently finalising cost estimates for the construction of a new permanent bridge. Residents also raised questions about the timing of compensation payments.
