Krasnodar, 4 July – Yug Times. Krasnodar Krai Among First Regions to Launch New Federal Initiative.
Krasnodar Krai will be one of the pilot regions for the experimental legalization of guest houses under a federal law signed on June 7. The initiative aims to bring thousands of small scale accommodations out of the informal sector and ensure that they contribute to local development through a dedicated tourism tax.
According to lawmakers, revenues from this tax will remain in municipal budgets to support regional infrastructure and tourism needs. “We still need to resolve the issue of utility tariffs for guesthouse owners,” said Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Viktoria Abram chenko.
The new law will be supplemented by a formal regulation establishing classification criteria for guest houses, including minimum standards for facilities.
