Krasnodar, 27 May – Yug Times. Authorities in Adyghea have intensified efforts to protect fish spawning grounds during the strict seasonal fishing ban. A joint operation conducted by the Kuban-Adyghean Division of the Azov-Black Sea Territorial Directorate of the Federal Fisheries Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) and environmental protection officials has resulted in the removal of numerous illegal fishing nets from protected areas.

More than 260 kilograms of illegally caught fish, including protected and valuable species, have been confiscated.
"During the two-month spawning protection campaign, 97 violations were recorded, and 84 illegal fishing tools were seized," said Azmet Yeredzhibokov, head of the Kuban-Adyghe Division of Rosrybolovstvo.
