Krasnodar, 14 May – Yug Times. The Kuban Governor has reportedly held a working meeting with the new Head of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Veniamin Kondratiev discussed matters of joint cooperation with Oleg Agarkov, who took charge of the regional police in April 2025. “Krasnodar Krai is one of the largest regions in the country, and every year about 20 million tourists come here. The police officers are always under a heavy workload,” said Veniamin Kondratiev. 

“Their primary task is to ensure public order and prevent offenses, both in the resort areas and in our cities and rural settlements.” Oleg Agarkov was born on July 7, 1960. Since 1981, he worked in the ipolice departments of the Tbi lissky district, Gelendzhik, and in the Astrakhan and Rostov regions. Previously, the regional police were headed by Vladimir Andreyev, who came from Pskov in 2019. He was removed from his post by presidential decision in April of this year; the reasons were not officially disclosed. New heads have also been appointed to the Main Directorates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea, Rostov Oblast, and Perm Krai.

The central leadership of the Ministry emphasized the need to “take a fresh look” at the operational situation and to determine areas requiring additional efforts, taking into account the specific characteristics of the assigned territories
