Krasnodar, 9 April – Yug Times. The Krasnodar region is reported to have the highest rate of refusals for POS-credits. In February, 85.3% of applications submitted in the Kuban region were refused.
In February last year, 79% were rejected. POS-credits are loans granted directly in an equipment, furniture, building materials shop or a mobile phone office.
“The increase in the rejection rate for POS-credit applications is a consequence of the regulator’s strict monetary policy aimed at ‘cooling down’ the unsecured credit market,” Aleksei Volkov, Marketing Director at National Bureau of Credit Histories said. “First of all, we are talking about the increase in the key interest rate and the tightening of macroprudential restrictions. At the same time, in 2025 we can see the following trends in the commodity lending segment: a general decrease in the demand for POS-loans by citizens and a decrease in the lenders’ risk appetite. On one hand, there is a decrease in the number of applications for POS-loans, as the increase in interest rates discourages many borrowers, and on the other hand, the approval rate of applications for this type of loan is also decreasing.”
