Krasnodar, 1 October – Yug Times. Sochi may revive local production of amusement rides. Last week, the resort city hosted the Forum of Amusement and Recreation Industry Professionals to discuss how to attract investors to such projects.
"The Krasnodar region, as Russia's leading resort, has accumulated considerable experience in the creation and development of health resort and tourist infrastructure and entertainment industry," commented Dmitri Khmelko, the region's Minister of Industrial Policy. "Modernisation, reconstruction and estaablishment of such enterprises is carried out with the direct participation of regional industrialists. Our region produces almost the whole range of construction and upfit products for hospitality industry enterprises – from building materials to furniture, textiles, radio-electronic equipment, playgrounds and sports grounds."
The Minister added that about a dozen Kuban enterprises produce amusement rides. In the Soviet times, the country's largest manufacturers of these products and a design institute worked in Krasnodar and Yeisk.
