Krasnodar, 5 March – Yug Times. The Judicial Board for Criminal Cases of the Krasnodar Regional Court has reportedly considered the materials of the criminal case filed following the Prosecutor's Office's protest against the verdict of the Oktiabrsky District Court in Novorossiysk, which found Aleksei Polupanov guilty of committing an offence under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
“The verdict asserted that from March to December 2020 Polupanov, holding the post of the Head of the Customs Department No. 1 of the Novorossiysk Customs Post, was deprived of monetary bonuses due to the disciplinary penalty imposed on him,” the regional court’s press service announced. “The defendant decided to make up for this loss at the expense of his subordinate employees, telling them to pass to him a part of the bonuses they were receiving. Thus, he received a total of about 500,000 roubles from seven officers.”
Eventually, the verdict against Polupanov was changed and he was sentenced to 1.5 years of compulsory labour with withholding of 10% of his earnings to the state budget.
