Krasnodar, 2 October – Yug Times. The first production line of domestic sunflower seeds was opened in the Giaginsky district.
The investments in the breeding and seed production centre exceeded one billion roubles. The opening of the plant was the first stage on the way to the creation of a seed-growing cluster in Adyghea. The investor was a Russian company, which provides oilseeds growing complexes and is considered to be one of the largest suppliers of sunflower seeds in the country.
"All issues related to seeds are very important, and we fully supported the project, because we can see shortage of seeds due to import substitution. Sunflower, and in the future also beetroot seeds, are very important topics for the country," said Murat Kumpilov, Head of the Republic of Adyghea.
The support and assistance of the region in the implementation of the project was available at all stages.
