Krasnodar, 29 September – Yug Times. The repair of the damaged sewer collector at the junction of Krasnykh Partizan Street and Kropotkin Drive is preliminarily expected to take around two months.
According to Dmitri Pavlyuchen ko, director-general of Krasnodar Vodokanal water utility, the exact timetable will become clear once underground work begins, when specialists can assess the actual condition of the remaining section of the collector. Rain could also complicate the work: the construction pit must be kept dry, which is difficult in wet weather. The concrete collector collapsed after years of operation and gas corrosion. The upper section of the pipeline deteriorated, causing the ground beneath the road to collapse.
While the work is under way, traffic will be restricted on three lanes of Krasnykh Partizan Street for vehicles leaving the city towards Herzen Street. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes in advance.
The repairs will not affect water supply or wastewater services for local residents, which will continue to operate as normal.
