Krasnodar, 24 September – Yug Times. Restoration work has been completed on the Darya Nikitina House, a regionally listed heritage building at 59 Postovaya Street in Krasnodar. The work included renovation of the roof of the building.
The house was built between 1905 and 1912 to a design by renowned architect Gavriil Nikitin for his wife, Darya. Today, the historic building houses Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 7.
Workers restored the brickwork of the parapet piers and attic, and recreated the stucco decoration of the pinnacles on the southern façade using surviving examples. Missing wrought-iron elements of the roof railings were also reinstated, while the timber structures of the attic floor and roof truss system were repaired and reinforced.
Particular attention was paid to the roof: its historic covering and drainage system were restored. The work has improved the building’s long-term structural and operational reliability and reinstated elements lost since the monument’s original architectural appearance. During the restoration, every effort was made to preserve historic details and reproduce missing features based on surviving examples.
