Krasnodar, 23 September – Yug Times. Six new paid car parking lots, providing a total of 272 spaces, will be opened in Novorossiysk by the end of October.

The announcement was made by Mayor Andrei Kravchenko at a planning meeting.

Of the total, 33 spaces will be designated for people with disabilities. A further four spaces will remain free of charge for visitors to social facilities. The new car parks are expected to generate more than 13 million roubles a year for the city budget.

Instead of conventional parking meters, information terminals that do not require a connection to the electricity supply will be installed. The post-payment period will also be extended to two days.

The city is also continuing to bring non-permanent retail outlets into line with a common standard. Six outlets along the waterfront have already been upgraded. Since the beginning of the year, 15 non-permanent retail outlets that failed to meet the requirements for their location have been dismantled. The city administration has warned that where there are no legal grounds for an outlet to remain, it will have to be removed.
