Krasnodar, 16 September – Yug Times. A water intake built more than ten years ago has finally been put into service in Sochi.

Mayor Andrei Proshunin visited the Upper Mzymta facility in Adler District. The site was constructed in 2013 as part of the Olympic programme but only commissioned this summer.

“I am glad to announce the launch of a new water intake with a capacity of 65,000 cu bic metres per day. It is a key element in ensuring stable water supply to Adler, Khos ta and Central Districts. The facility will improve the situation by stabilising supply and, most importantly, providing a reliable reserve source. We are closing the gaps in the system which previously led to interruptions during peak loads or maintenance. Stable water supply is essential for residents, tourism, ecology and sanitation. Our aim is to build a smart, reliable, modern system able to meet the challenges of a year-round resort,” said Mayor Proshunin.
