Krasnodar, 7 August – Yug Times. Adygea is expanding support for youth initiatives and strengthening training opportunities for the next generation of professionals.
Over the past three years, the republic has allocated 650 million roubles to youth policy, Head of Adygea Murat Kumpilov announced at a conference marking the tenth anniversary of the Adygea Regional Organisation of the Russian Youth Union.
According to Kumpilov, one of the government's main objectives is to coordinate the work of youth organisations and help young people turn their own ideas into reality.
The republic is home to around 135,000 residents under the age of 35. To provide a more systematic approach to youth policy, the Committee for Youth Affairs was established three years ago to coordinate cooperation between government bodies and public organisations.
The funding is being investedin in frastructure development and support for youth-led initiatives. A multifunctional Youth of Adygea centre is already operating in Maikop, plus a year-round Youth Development Centre is under construction on the outskirts of the city.
