Krasnodar, 29 July – Yug Times. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 170 kilometres of stormwater drainage networks have been cleaned in Greater Sochi, and over 430 metres of worn-out pipelines have been replaced.
In addition, two collectors have been brought back into operation following refurbishment: on Lenin Street in the Adler District, and on Komsomolskaya Street in the Central District. The work was carried out as part of a programme to restore facilities within the city's centralised drainage system.
According to Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin, maintaining the storm water infrastructure in good working order is one of the key measures for preventing flooding, safeguarding public health across urban areas, and mitigating the impact of adverse weather conditions. A network of the utility company's operational bases, now functioning in all city districts, provides additional capacity for rapid response. The opening of a new base in the Khosta District has further improved the efficiency of stormwater system maintenance. Over the past week, specialists cleaned and flushed sections of the stormwater network on 12 streets across the Central, Khosta and Adler districts.
