Krasnodar, 28 July – Yug Times. Nearly 500,000 long-term savings scheme agreements have been signed in Kuban.
According to the press service of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia, total contributions to the scheme had reached 25.5 billion roubles as of 1 July 2026. The directorate says Kuban residents are among the programme's most active participants nationwide. The region ranks third in Russia by the number of agreements signed. In the first half of 2026, 117,600 agreements were concluded in Krasno dar Krai, with total contributions for the six-month period amounting to almost 3 billion roubles.
"The programme is designed to encourage long-term investment while requiring no specialist financial knowledge. It helps people build a financial safety net for any purpose and generate additional income in the future. A long-term savings agreement can be taken out for the benefit of a child or any other person, regardless of their age. In addition, the savings are inheritable," said Valentin Tiumentsev, First Deputy Head of the Southern Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia.
A long-term savings account is opened with a non-state pension fund, which invests the client's money, with investment returns credited to their account.
