Krasnodar, 14 July – Yug Times. Farmers in the Republic of Adygea are reportedly preparing to harvest 112,000 hectares of winter and spring crops as the harvesting campaign gathers pace.
The first results are already in. Growers have harvested 6,600 hectares of barley with an average yield of 3.48 tonnes per hectare, nearly 2,000 hectares of wheat yielding 3.97 tonnes per hectare, and 677 hectares of rapeseed with an average yield of 2.32 tonnes per hectare. At the same time, farms are completing the spring sowing campaign. This year's planting season was complicated by prolonged rainfall and waterlogged soils, which prevented machinery from entering the fields for an extended period. Despite these difficulties, spring crops have now been sown on 79,900 hectares of the planned 105,800 hectares.
Head of the Republic of Adygea Murat Kumpilov has instructed the relevant authorities to maintain constant oversight of fuel supplies for agricultural producers. The issue is being addressed jointly with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the fuel supplier.
