Krasnodar, 30 June – Yug Times. Sochi Mayor Andrei Proshunin has reportedly inspected the beaches of the Khosta and Central city districts along the Primorskaya (Maritime) Embankment as the city enters the height of the summer holiday season.
Around 180 beaches are open across all districts of Sochi this summer, with a combined capacity of approximately 300,000 visitors at any one time.
"Every day we are seeing more holidaymakers on our beaches, and the bathing season is now in full swing. The sea off the Sochi coast has already warmed to a comfort able 24–25 degrees Celsius," the mayor said. "We have clear procedures and instructions in place for lifeguards and security staff to deal with any emergency situations along the coastline. Any restrictions that may arise would not affect the overall beach experience."
